JALAPENO PEPPER

The jalapeno pepper named for its traditional production center , the Mexican city of Jalapa , Veracruz or cuaresmeño chili is one pof the most spicy varieties of Capsicumannuum more widely grown and consumed in America.

The fruit is fleshy and elongated , reaching 7 cm long and about 3 cm wide at the base. It is used both before and after maturation , an important part of the total production is for drying, after the process is known as chipotle chile ( chilpoctli Nahuatl , meaning " smoked chile" ) ..

It's a mildly spicy variety , between 2,500 and 8,000 points on the Scoville scale, although the intensity of flavor depends largely on the characteristics of the terrain and the variety of seed, the most common are known as típico , meco and morita .
